Writers as Readers
1: whenever I read it usually has to be in a dim, much laid back environment.
When I plan on reading for a long amount of time I can’t have any background
noise of I will get very off track and distracted. I really can read in any clothing
really, when I get into a book I kind of get lost in it so it doesn’t matter
much.
2: I read all different books really but what I seem to be most
interested in is horror, and mystery. I have no clue why and it’s a little
weird but I get such a rush from reading horror and mysteries that I can’t put
the book down for hours at a time. I was reading this horror book once while I was
sick and I read the 200 page book in 3 hours. It draws me into it because I never
see any of this stuff up close so why not read about it?
4: I don’t have a solid best memory but every time I read I remember
just being lost in the book and acting like imp the characters or what I would
do if I were them. Aside from that I remember a book my dad used to red to me
all the time, it was called Verdi. It was a book about a snake and to this day it’s
my favorite book because my dad read it to me all the time. I have great memories
all throughout my childhood because my dad would read to me all the time, that’s
how we got so close and I will never forget that, hats why I’m so attached to reading.
13: yes, I do think I will write a book someday because I want to be
an author. I was millions of people to read my writing and be able to get swallowed
up by the book or have a life changing realization because of my writing. I have
no clue what it will be about…I guess I will figure it out when the time comes.
I would describe the About the Author section about how I’m a realist but I will
like to get lost in fiction books sometimes, then do the obviously boring
background information then tell the readers if they want something they can
have it, they just need to believe they can.
12: I think people who read a lot are stronger writers because they
pick up their vocabulary from the books they read and even their writing style
like the authors. Personally I’ve always thought what I read inspires how I write
and definitely changes my outlooks on things and how I act because I’m so dependent
on books and pieces of writing it changes who I am and how I write.
Callie! I found a blog connected to the book you loaned me (I'm in love with page 167 btw): http://www.iwrotethisforyou.me
ReplyDeleteThere is also a link to the Author's Blog. His name is Iain S. Thomas. So interesting.
I love what you've written here about your memories of your dad reading to you. I'm sure those were some of the high points in his life, being with you in that way. Much love.
