"A screaming comes across the sky."
as she looked up into the pasty white clouds, she wondered where she
was meant to end up. Where she was meant to be or what to do with her life. She
continued to walk down her street, the one she has lived on since she was a
tiny toddler learning to walk, where she fell of her bike for the first time.
she didn't have anywhere to go, she just simply liked to walk. she kept walking
until she saw a boy, roughly around 6'0ft, dark auburn eyes and a mess of black
waves on his head, she didn't know what to think, her eyes were glued to him
and his every movement. The way his eyes light up when he completed that new
trick on his skateboard or the way his eyes crinkled in disappointment when he
fell off. In one swift moment his eyes caught hers and she knew nothing would
ever be the same in that very moment. She could feel the heat rising to her
cheeks as he swiftly walked over to her but she knew how to keep her cool. She
was raised to put on a face her entire life, so what's different now? When he
reached her, he spoke in a raspy but smooth voice that drew you in closer with
every word he said,
"You know" he spoke, " It's never really polite to
stare"
Rolling her eyes with
annoyance on her face she bit back "Good thing there is nothing polite
about me then"
With shock apparent in his voice, his eyes got softer and a small
grin played on his lips as he asked, "Do you think love at first sight is
real?"
And all she could reply with was, "Yes," she said.
"Isn't it pretty to think so?"
I really like the way you worked around to that last line. It just fits! I also like the back and forth dialogue and the line "Good thing there is nothing polite about me then."
