This piece was made by crafting clay and using different glazes and
fires to make the colors and textures differ.
The artists name is Nelson Grice who is famous for his unique style
of sculpting, in all of his pieces they are very creepy and different from what
most people would sculpt. This reminds me of the famous saying, “Hear no evil,
see no evil, speak no evil” because they are mimicking the expressions shown. I
find this very creepy, not just this specific piece but most of his other
pieces are very questionable.
I agree with your interpretation of the piece and while hesitant to look up more on the artist will likely do so because this seems really unique.
